In a market defined by unrealistically gorgeous models, lingerie brand Aerie decided to say ‘screw the system’ by launching a campaign featuring women with various disabilities and illnesses modeling a range of styles.
The lingerie line included models with Type 1 diabetes, down syndrome, crutches and more, wearing everything from its collection of intimate apparel, from bralettes to workout clothing.
The snaps, which can be seen at the product pages of American Eagle’s website, has gained massive traction online through shares by fans and even the models themselves.
Netizens couldn’t contain their excitement
But this is nothing new for the American Eagle brand
Aerie has received massive praise in the past for its efforts to diversify women. Its website is legit awesome, featuring models from various racial background and diff body types, capped off with a social media hashtag, #AerieREAL.
